![]() The Sheriff Boynton [governor for two days] is one of our best suites - 900 square feet of pure luxury, hydro therapy tub, kitchen with micro wave, cook top and refrigerator extra large bath and shower, four-poster canopy bed, large screen TV with DVD and satellite, fireplace and breath-taking views. All of our rooms are exquisite - this one is exquisitely unique. Innkeeper Winifred Ledford's great grandfather, Winfield Scott Boynton, was sheriff of El Paso County (before Teller County was formed) between 1894 to 1897 when Labor Wars pitted miners against mine owners. He and his brother Frank and their families were builders and merchants in Cripple Creek from around 1890 to 1915.
