Weekend $225
George and Emma Carr were ranchers in Cripple Creek for many years prior to the finding Gold in the early 1890s, managing the Broken Bar Ranch. When the ranch sold for town lots in 1891, the Carrs turned to real estate investment. Several of their buildings, burned in the 1896 fires. Before the end of the year, the Carrs rebuilt in brick their commercial building on Bennett Avenue. Carr Avenue was named after them and the Ledfords themed the Carr Manor for George and Emma, and also Ralph Carr; neither of the families were related.
